Vivus plans to file for FDA approval as it gets the Job done in 15 minutes

Vivus announced that its late-stage experimental erectile dysfunction drug apparently gets the job done in 15 minutes.

Depending on the dosage, 67-72 percent of men in the study said they were ready to do it within a quarter hour. That’s way faster than Pfizer’s Viagra, Lilly’s Cialis and Levitra from GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and Bayer.

Vivus officials call those results “surprising.”

The company plans to file for FDA approval of the pill by the end of this year. It recently filed for the agency okay of its diet drug Qnexa. Arena Pharmaceuticals is also seeking regulatory approval of a weightloss pill. Orexigen is expected to submit its application soon for a third diet pill.
